Fall SMoCA Nights "Stitched"

November 13, 2008

For SMoCA Nights "Stitched," revelers were able to get tangled up with a bounty of funky fashion created by artists and designers inspired by the exhibition Radical Lace & Subversive Knitting. Retro-inspired band Acapulco Five-O wowed the crowd with exotica, spy-ghetto western, and flashy Go-Go style tunes. The band was followed by DJ dk.strickler, spinning a mix of downtempo, deep house, global soul, deep tech, afrobeat, jazzy house and funk. Dk.strickler set the mood for the dance performances by Deja Dance and the much-anticipated rogue, craft-based fashion show  which featured ten Arizona designers.

*The Radical Lace & Subversive Knitting exhibition was organized and circulated by the Museum of Arts & Design, New York.
