Margarita Cabrera was born in 1973 in Monterrey, Mexico. She received a BFA in 1997 and an MFA in 2001 from Hunter College (CUNY) in New York. Recent exhibitions include Sister Cities: Testing Boundaries at the El Paso Museum of Art in Texas and Margarita Cabrera and Billy Hassell at The Gallery at the University of Texas at Arlington. An exhibition at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art opens in 2008. Cabrera lives and works in El Paso, and is represented by the Sara Meltzer Gallery, New York.
