Amy Stein was born in Washington, D.C., in 1970. She received a BSc in Political Science from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia, in 1992, an MSc in Political Science from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland, in 1995, and an MFA in photography from the School of Visual Arts in New York in 2006. Recent exhibitions include Two Person Show at the Griffin Museum of Photography in Winchester, Massachusetts, Road Trip at the Mixed Greens Gallery in New York, and Descubrimientos PHE07 at El Museo Municipal de Arte Contemporaneo in Madrid. Stein lives and works in New York, and is represented by the Paul Kopeikin Gallery, Los Angeles.
