The Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art [SMoCA] presented SMoCA Nights: 'Caliente' on Thursday, June 22, 2006 from 9:00 pm to 1:00 am. The event organizers were thrilled to debut the exclusive fashion line KRELwear in Arizona, brought to you by the event’s co-collaborator, Retail Laboratory. The Miami-based designer Karelle Levy made her sole appearance at SMoCA for a performance choreographed by Rio Grantham and a unique fashion experience with one-of-a-kind hand-knitted designs. KRELwear’s sexy, playful, interchangeable pieces boast celebrity clients like Christina Ricci, Carmen Electra and Cameron Diaz—just to name a few. SMoCA Nights guests were the first in the state to preview this emerging, sought-after designer. In addition, the audience was treated to a theatrical, fashion-inspired performance art production by local artist & designer Camille Messina with dramatic Dia de los Muertos styling overtones provided by Urban Hairand make-up artist Ginger Champagne.
