| The Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art [SMoCA] presented
SMoCA Nights: 'Pop' on Thursday, March 2, 2006 from 9:00 p.m. to
1:00 a.m. A unique and wildly popular fixture of Valley
nightlife, SMoCA Nights once again brought together artists,
fashion designers, musicians and dancers from throughout Arizona
for an energy-charged evening of eclectic, edgy culture and hip
entertainment.
In conjunction with and in the spirit of the exhibitionAndy
Warhol's Dream America: screenprints from the collection of the
Jordan Schnitzer Family Foundation, SMoCA Nights proudly
presented 'POP' in homage to the kind of glamour and decadence
that has become synonymous with Warhol. This incredible Studio
54-themed SMoCA Nights extravaganza was one of the Valley's
hottest places to see and be seen. Guests enjoyed a runway
fashion show, live DJs & a live band as well as free appetizers,
a cash bar, and free door prizes.
On view at SMoCA were three new spring exhibitions: Andy
Warhol's Dream America: screenprints from the Jordan Schnitzer
Family Foundation, Petah Coyne: Above and Beneath the Skin, and
southwestNET: Techno.
SMoCA Nights: 'Pop' was organized by the Scottsdale Museum of
Contemporary Art and sponsored by Desert Living, Java,
Labelhorde, Orange Table, Phoenician Health Group, Phoenix New
Times, Phosphor Photography, Robert Saenz, Swell Pro Audio,
Urban Hair and WHERE Phoenix/Scottsdale.
