The spring 2007 SMoCA Nights event debuted artist/fashion designer Virgil Ortiz (Cochiti Pueblo ) and his new line "Le Sauvage Primitif." SMoCA Nights attendees were the first in Arizona to witness Ortiz's amazing designs unveiled on the runway.

As a follow-up to the event, the Store @ SMoCA carried the highly anticipated Renegade Collection; a spectacular series of bold and daring t-shirts that portray Ortiz’s modern interpretation of the nouveau Native Warrior and Native Femme Fatale.

The night also began with a unique live performance by vocalist and violin virtuoso Quetzal Guerrero playing a blend of Afro-Cuban, Brazilian and Gypsy Jazz. Alongside the band, visitors witnessed select members of the Alpha Monster art collective as they provided their own artistic slant on drawings created by Virgil. Meanwhile, DJ William Reed worked the turntables in the galleries to provide a spectacular sound mix for Virgil's couture experience.
